The Linden Leaf Rooms - Classy Studios

Since my last stay late last year, the place has been renovated. It’s nicely decorated and presented, and the new beds were really comfortable. I had an enjoyable stay.

I wanted this place to work because it had some good points, but the problems made for a really disappointing stay. Before arrival, they asked for a £103 deposit separate from the amount already paid through Expedia. Then they sent the rules and required a scan of my driver's license or passport. Only after that did they send a link to the codes, which took more time and roaming data. I haven’t had another hotel do this. At checkout, they emailed asking me to clean up according to the rules, but I couldn’t find any such requirement when I reviewed them. They eventually returned the deposit, but it was only £100. After everything else, that about figures. I was in room #7 for four nights in mid-September 2025. There was a substantial amount of black mold in the bathroom, as shown in the photos. The carpet looked unvacuumed, and there seemed to be small pubic hairs in the mug and microwave. The room felt moldy and dirty, and I felt better after washing the touch points. The bathroom vent didn’t work. The oversized beach towel was bigger than the bathroom and needlessly so, though the hand and foot towels were normal sized. I tried to warm the room to 20c, but the heating wasn’t working. I called, and they sent a technician the next day, but they couldn’t fix it. There were some positives: the location, onsite parking, skylight, refrigerator and microwave, Wi-Fi, instant hot water at both the sink and shower, clean sheets and towels, and a TV that worked well and even had a USB port.

A comfortable bed and a good room for the money. Just a few small issues.

I booked through Agoda and never got any check-in details. When I arrived, I couldn’t get into the property or reach the owner by any means. Avoid it.
