Lady Christine's special breakfast was incredible, and John made sure I felt like an old friend and showed me around, even though it was my first visit. I slept on the most comfortable bed in England. It really felt like home, in a nutshell. All in all, 20/10. Thank you for having me, from the bottom of my heart!

The breakfast was delivered by John on a trolley at the time we’d arranged, and there was plenty to set me up for the day: cereal, croissants, fruit and toast. The room was a self-contained annex attached to their bungalow, with snacks, wifi, an en suite and TV. It made for a quiet stopover, and I got a good night's sleep in the comfortable bed. I was bikepacking and needed an affordable, comfy overnight stay where I could keep my bike secure. I found Wings on Booking,com, and the experience was friendly from the start. My ETA was uncertain while I was cycling, so the owner, Chris, and I texted during the day. When I arrived, she and John welcomed me, let me store my bike in their outbuilding, and showed me to my room. That evening I walked into Oakham for a pint and some chips. Thanks for such a lovely welcome.

The private garden was lovely, and breakfast was very extensive. The room was spotless and private too, and the couple who run the place were very friendly.
