Seven of us ate here and all seven were really satisfied. The menu had a great range and everything was pleasingly priced. Service was excellent throughout, and the place has a lovely, homely feel, the sort of spot where you could linger for hours over the generous food. A friend recommended it, so we stopped by while in the area. Try the buffalo wings and seasoned fries, chef's kiss. I'd tell anyone nearby to make a point of visiting, and maybe even if you're not nearby.

Had a great stay at The Boot Inn Rutland. The room had been newly decorated, and the bed was very comfortable. Good range of beers and spirits, plus excellent meals and tapas. Thanks to Kate and Mark for being so hospitable. I'd definitely recommend it.

Rutland was a hidden gem for me on my first visit to the county, with lovely options for cycling, walking and watersports on Rutland Water. The Boot felt like the hub of its beautiful village. Kate and her team made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived, and the cocktail and tapas evening was a roaring success, much needed for local pubs during the lean times of covid. Three friends, including me, booked two nights of accommodation and food at The Boot and loved every minute. The rooms are fairly basic but very clean and tidy. Some may miss amenities such as en-suite bathrooms, but we thought it was great value in a quintessential old-style English village pub. The homemade food was excellent, with generous portions and fresh produce. We enjoyed our dinner there more than at a nearby pub on our first night. All of us were impressed and would definitely come back. Keep up the good work, Team Kate!

The friendly bar serves good food, especially the sausage and mash with outstanding onion gravy. Getting around the accommodation takes some agility because of the uneven floors, low beams and steep stairs.

A charming, friendly village pub tucked away close to Rutland Water. My vegetarian Sunday roast was so tasty and great value. My friend had the roast beef and said it was one of the best she's ever had. I'll definitely return.
