Walking through the grounds on the woodland paths with our dog was a lovely part of the trip. We stayed three nights over Christmas with my partner and parents, in two charming courtyard rooms with beautiful views across the grounds. Our cockapoo could join us everywhere, including meals in the bright, airy glasshouse, which had tasteful modern Christmas decorations. We also had evening drinks together at the 1975 bar. The staff were warm and attentive, and made the family celebration feel special. There was plenty of excellent food, and the Christmas Day feast stood out for its hearty traditional dishes and thoughtful extra touches.

My mother really enjoyed the afternoon tea I gave her. The reception ladies were especially kind and helpful, replying to every email I sent about it. The garden is beautifully kept and has some lovely spots for photos. Inside, the Christmas decorations made the place feel atmospheric and festive. A great place.

The wedding package was very reasonably priced, and we couldn't have asked for a better place to celebrate. On 9th August 2025, we had the best time of our lives at Oakley Hall. Our guests had lovely things to say about the food, drinks and service. The fish and dessert were particular favourites. Thank you to Head Chef Kevin for taking our feedback from the menu tasting on board and looking after everyone so well on the day. The planning was made easy by our coordinator, Ed, who was attentive, organised and reassuring throughout. On the day David, Ben and the whole team kept everything running smoothly, while Sinead did a brilliant job setting up that morning, especially after a large wedding the day before. The grounds are beautiful, the rooms elegant, and all the staff we met were genuinely kind and helpful. As an independent, family-owned hotel, Oakley Hall felt warm and welcoming from our very first visit. The people are what make the place special. Thanks to everyone who helped make our day so wonderful 🙂

The wedding breakfast, canapés and evening buffet all got positive feedback from our guests. We were lucky enough to have our wedding at Oakley Hall in October 2025, and the grounds looked amazing in their autumn colours. The bridal and groom's parties stayed both the night before and the night of the wedding. The rooms were comfortable, spacious, and had everything we needed. Throughout our stay, every staff member we met was helpful, energetic and professional. The coordinators who kept in touch during the planning were the same.

The teas were lovely, and we had a really nice afternoon. We booked online for a midweek afternoon tea and found the place empty when we arrived. We were politely greeted and shown to our table. The food looked good and tasted lovely. Just a couple of small things, there was no butter for the scones and the clotted cream was quite firm.
