Blair Villa South

The rooms were clean and good, and looked recently renovated. Blair Villa is close enough to town to walk easily. We stayed for two nights, but on the first day there was no heating and no alternative arrangement. They only sorted it out after we asked on the second day. Without that, we would have cancelled and gone elsewhere. They provide a bagged breakfast to take with you. For a proper breakfast, nearby cafes are an option, and I wouldn’t pay for breakfast here.

There’s a front sitting room with books and games, plus a beautiful view over the bay where you can watch the ferries arrive. The owner gave us a very warm welcome. Our room was spotless and had lots of nice details, and the bathroom was clean and fancy. A delightful spot.

It’s rare to feel so welcomed and well looked after as a guest. Alec was warm and full of useful information during my two-night work trip, and the design and quality of the room and hotel amenities were superb. The furniture and panoramic occasional room were lovely too. It felt like a little luxury retreat. We can’t wait to return to Oban and stay at the Blair Villa South again. Thanks.

The owners were friendly and kind, and the house is on a quiet residential street just a little way up the hill from Oban’s train station, ferry terminal, and main street. It’s a beautiful Victorian building, with comfortable rooms and luxurious modern bathrooms. Our room also had a standing fan, which was a real relief on an unusually warm day.
