Corran House Guest House & Hostel

Corran House was great value, with a modern, clean room and facilities that would work especially well for a longer stay. It’s close to the town centre, where there are plenty of bars and restaurants. I had a fantastic weekend and would definitely recommend it. I’d happily visit again. A+++

I booked directly on their website for £54, which was excellent value. The bed was comfortable, the shower was great, and the kitchen worked really well, with full cooking facilities. Breakfast food was available on an honesty box basis. We had dinner in the bar downstairs and it was lovely, with the place busy for a Tuesday night. Only downsides: both mirrors in the room showed no more than your torso 😂, and it got a bit noisy outside when the bar let out.

The pub smell was the one real drawback. It seemed to come from kitchen ventilation near the lobby, spreading through the shared areas and into our room. The windows were right above the pub, so opening them didn't make a difference. Still, the studio was beautiful, with lovely shared spaces and stunning sea views I could have watched for hours. We could barely hear the pub at all.

We had such a lovely stay at Corran house. The bay view was great, and there’s a self-service kitchen as well as a cozy bar just below the hotel. The rooms were comfortable and the location was excellent. Oban is a beautiful resort town, and staying here made the visit even nicer. I’ll definitely come back.
