The food lived up to its reputation, and we left feeling well looked after. We enjoyed the set three-course Christmas menu, beautifully cooked and full of flavour, with a bottle of Chablis and then a bottle of Laurent Perrier to follow. This was our first stay at the Rufford Arms, and mixed reviews had made us worry the hotel might not match the food, but the spotless, comfortable room 13 put that concern to rest. It even had a proper bath, which was a welcome surprise. Thanks to the whole team, especially David, for the warm welcome, lovely food and comfortable stay. We’re already looking forward to coming back. Until next time, Merry Christmas x

The staff were helpful and lovely, and the whole stay felt relaxed and easy. I was there for work and loved the big room, comfy bed, nice bathroom and decor. The meals were WOW, the best I’ve had in a long time. I stayed three nights and every evening’s food was outstanding. I wish I lived closer so I could just come for dinner. I’ll definitely be back next time I’m working in the area.

The team at the hotel are always kind and attentive, and they look after us so well. We’ve stayed in summer and enjoyed the nearby canal walks with our mini dachshunds. The newly renovated restaurant is gorgeous, and we booked dinner there for Christmas Eve this year. It was terrific. Breakfast is delicious too. We had a delicious meal for my dad’s birthday, choosing the two-course festive menu. The food was generous and nicely presented, and there wasn’t a thing we could fault. Everyone on the staff was welcoming, professional and attentive. We’d definitely recommend dining here. Thanks for a lovely evening.

We only stayed one night and brought our dog. The place was spotless, the food excellent and the staff very welcoming. It was such a quiet location, and I only wish we’d brought our wellies so we could enjoy a walk along the nearby canal. Highly recommended, and we’ll definitely come back at some point.
