Prerna, the lovely woman working behind the bar, went out of her way to make everything run smoothly. Nothing was too much trouble, and we really enjoyed our stay. We booked apartment 4 directly with the hotel, along with a VIP car park space for the weekend. They offered us free breakfast, though we only used it on one of the two nights we booked. The serviced apartment had digital number locks, which meant we didn't need a physical key. There were lots of TV screens and the internet was good. The location is superb, just a 10-15 minute walk from the city centre. We'll be back!

The apartment worked perfectly for my family of six during our time in Oxford. The Ethos Hotel is in a quiet neighbourhood just south of Christ Church, and the staff were courteous and helpful. Highly recommend it.

We enjoyed the food and the staff were lovely. The feta salad was generous and tasty, the chicken pizza was lovely, and breakfast was good too. My full English was tasty and filling, and I also liked the scrambled egg on sourdough with parmesan. The waitress was very pleasant. The G&T and bottled ginger beer were reasonably priced. A few things let the stay down. Despite having paid in full, there was an unexpected £150 holding fee, and parking was £29.50, though £20 could be used as food and drink credit. Room 105 was spacious and warm, but four light bulbs weren't working and it was only average for cleanliness, with quite a bit of dust. We were told the bar was open until 11 pm, but when we returned from the show at 10.30, the woman was cashing up and wouldn't serve us. That was a bit naughty. They need to keep on top of the accommodation and the hours they state.

The hotel is in a beautiful, very quiet neighbourhood, and our room and bed were both huge. Everything was spotless, the staff were great, and breakfast was delicious and generous. As a vegetarian, I sometimes struggle to find a decent breakfast, but there was plenty of choice here. We came by train for our 20th wedding anniversary, and the location suited us perfectly. It's about a 20-minute walk from the station, five minutes from the Head of the River, and ten minutes from the Westgate. It's not right in the centre of Oxford, but we would highly recommend staying here.

Bushra was the standout at Ethos cafe, friendly, professional, attentive, and charming. We had a really good meal, and the Italian-inspired menu offered a nice range of choices. Our pizza was delicious, rustic, and full of flavour, with an authentic feel. The cafe itself looked a bit tired and could use an upgrade to match the hotel's four-star boutique rating. Still, it's great to see a local independent run so well. I highly recommend it. Local resident.
