Westwood Country

The garden looked lovely, though the weather meant we couldn't make the most of it. Staff were friendly, polite and helpful, and breakfast was good. Our room was a little dated but perfectly comfortable. Nice hotel.

Breakfast was tasty, with some creative dishes, and the garden would be lovely for eating outside on a warm day. We stayed one night at the Westwood and had a very nice time. The place felt welcoming, staff were always glad to help with requests, and the rooms were clean and nicely decorated. We had the smallest room on the top floor, but it still had plenty of space.

We went to a wedding reception here and the food was really good. The garden is nice, though it could use some care from a good gardener. They only had bottled ales, which was a bit disappointing. I had a chat with a lovely manager, or perhaps owner, and I'm sure we'll return. The car park is quite small.

We paid £245 for two nights and extra for a garden view, but got a view of the end of the car park. I even asked whether it was garden view. The hotel was nearly empty, yet staff thought that view was suitable for the price. The room was very small, with very average furniture, and the bedside lamps didn't work. It felt like a huge overcharge for the quality. The place looks old and needs work. I wouldn't recommend it, especially with much better, more modern and cheaper options in the same area.
