The Kings Head

The rooms were spacious and really clean, which made our first stay here an enjoyable one. I've visited the pub once before, and the staff and locals are all so friendly and welcoming. I really enjoy coming here.

We had to find somewhere at the last minute after an unexpected job came up in Cambridge for my boss and me. Luckily, I found this gem close to our work. Michelle (landlady) was there to greet us and put us at ease straight away. It feels like a home from home, and I'd highly recommend it as a clean, simple, friendly place to stop over.

There are enough places to eat in town if you're hungry, as they don't currently serve food here. The pub has a good beer selection and friendly staff. I stayed one night in their B&B, and the room was comfortable and clean, with a TV, fan, mini fridge and tea and coffee. My only disappointment was the breakfast: no one mentioned it, and what I found in the room was a prepacked croissant, a pot of yogurt and a banana. That felt a bit below expectations. Otherwise, I was happy.

The breakfast was excellent, arrived on time, and there was loads of hot, tasty food. The room also had plenty of tea, coffee and milk, and the towels were lovely, fresh and thick. The bedding was clean and fresh too. A few maintenance issues and some cobwebs let the place down, but for an overnight stay it was perfectly adequate. Don't be put off, it was good for the price.
