The Royal Inn

The staff and locals were all really friendly, and the food was fantastic for the price. My room was excellent too. I stopped for one night while on a biking trip to Lands End/Newquay, and enjoyed playing pool until closing time ;)

I stayed two nights and was really disappointed with the service, or lack of it! Breakfast and an evening meal were both included in the booking, but nothing was provided. When we asked about either, we were simply told no. There were cobwebs behind the door and black marks around the toilet rim, so the place could do with a good clean. Such a shame, as it could be a nice place in the right hands.

For four years running, we’ve stayed here while enjoying the festivities at Eden Project and Heligan. It’s in a great location, with brilliant rooms for a good price. We have a child and a dog, so we haven’t tried the pub, though it looks popular.

The manager and staff were polite, accommodating and made us feel completely at ease. My husband and I stayed for a week before our daughter’s wedding, and all the guest rooms were clean and had what we needed. Breakfast was ordered the night before and cooked beautifully each morning. On days without a cooked breakfast, there were cereals or toast, plus fresh juice and muffins. We’ll definitely come back, and I want to thank them again for such a lovely stay.
