Dove Court Mini Lodge

For an overnight budget stay just outside Bristol, the room was clean and adequate, if not especially big. Breakfast is help-yourself from the fridge in the room, with continental options like rolls, ham, cheese and yoghurt. The ham was especially fresh and delicious. Parking seemed limited to around four cars for nine rooms, so I’m not sure what happens when it’s full. The bathroom was clean enough, but the cramped, all-in-one plastic setup felt like something from a caravan, and using the toilet was awkward. Still, acceptable for a short, inexpensive stay.

The accommodation is a long way from Bristol centre, and the facilities felt very old. The bathroom was a prefabricated addition and barely had enough room. Breakfast choices were limited to cereal, fruit and yoghurt.

Cereals and snacks were provided in the room, along with a fridge, kettle and en suite. It’s about a 40 minute bus ride from the city centre, and the location worked well for me.

The rooms are clean and comfortable, and the owners are understanding and really helpful. I have challenging dietary requirements, so being able to bring my own food works well. I always stay here when I visit family.
