The Pateley Playhouse was just around the corner, so I went to a play one evening. I also visited Fountains Abbey and Haworth, and took the bus into Harrogate. This was my first solo holiday, and the flat felt secure with two locked doors between me and outside. The bed was very comfortable and the flat had what I needed. I’d suggest a larger TV or moving things around, since it’s quite far from the sofa across the dining table. The main bedroom cupboards could also do with an update, though the owners may think they suit the property.

After long walks across the moors and the Dales, this was such a lovely place to return to. We really enjoyed the terrace at sunset, and the neighbourhood was quiet. The place was spacious, cozy, very clean, and well prepared for the fiesta. A top place to stay while visiting Yorkshire.

We’ve already started looking at dates to come back. The owners were quick to answer our questions, and all three generations in our extended family had good things to say about the space, how clean it was, the lovely views, and how close it is to town. We booked two of Chews Cottages, and had a fantastic stay.

The beds suited us well, though they were quite different: the double was very firm, which I liked, while my daughter liked the very soft singles. With my back injury, I couldn’t have slept on one of those singles if I’d needed to, so that’s something to bear in mind, but we both slept extremely well. The ground floor apartment was a great base for exploring nearby areas and was well equipped. I did find the two chopping boards a bit small and would have appreciated a larger one, but we managed perfectly fine.

A lovely historic building with a nice atmosphere. The small patio gets plenty of sun, and from the flat there are views over the high street, trees and green hills. Inside, it was clean, with comfy beds and a spacious living room and kitchen. The bathroom was roomy too, with a bath and shower over it.
