Macdonald Cardrona Hotel, Golf & Spa

The pool, spa and gym were great, and our room had a scenic view that made it easy to relax. Dinner was nice, with a good range at breakfast too. The rooms aren’t especially modern or stylish, but that didn’t spoil our overnight spa break with dinner and breakfast. Beatrice and the spa team gave excellent, friendly care, and Val at the front desk was lovely as well.

Fiona was especially kind and helpful, and gave us great recommendations for places to eat. The staff were amazing throughout our Hogmanay stay. We accidentally left a phone charger behind, and the hotel kindly sent it back to us afterward, which we really appreciated. We had a wonderful experience and I’d definitely recommend staying here. Thank you!

We had a peaceful last-minute stay with our little dog. The king room was spacious and clean, and £20 per night for the dog felt like a small supplement. It’s an older-style hotel rather than a modern one, which I actually liked. The bathroom was large and in good condition, with complimentary shower gel, and the bed was comfortable. There were lovely views of the hills. The pool was clean and a decent size, and the gym had plenty of equipment. I’d stay again. Breakfast was fine, though a bit pricey for what it was, and the restaurant seemed expensive, so we didn’t eat there.

Caitlyn gave me a fantastic massage. She made me feel comfortable very quickly and gave me plenty of time to get ready. The rest of the spa was lovely too, though we couldn’t find much information about it and were a little disappointed there was no hot tub. The steam room was nice and the pool temperature was good. Towels and robes were provided, but we’d been told there would be slippers and hadn’t packed any, so it was a shame not to get them. We enjoyed a lovely little spa break and hope to return one day. The hotel has an older style, which suited us, and the tea and coffee in the room were nice. The still and sparkling water taps around the hotel were very convenient. Staff were helpful, and breakfast in bed was fantastic: we filled in the form from our room and hung it on the door, then our food arrived during the time slot we chose. It was lovely.
