We didn’t stay overnight, but the rest of this lovely place looked promising. We were staying nearby and stopped in for dinner. The three of us ordered belly pork, scampi and steak pie, and every meal was absolutely lovely. It was so good we came back two days later. The St Austell bitter was a good pint too.

The carvery at the Coach & Horses was excellent. My wife had beef, while I chose the belly pork, and they were generous with both the meat and vegetables. My portion of pork was so big I brought some home for my dog, who had a real treat. The roast potatoes were perfect, crisp outside and soft and fluffy inside. We also had cauliflower cheese, carrots, swede, leek and cabbage, plus a huge Yorkshire pudding. We somehow still had room for dessert, and both ordered the sticky toffee pudding. It was delicious. My wife had a Pinot Grigio, and I had a pint of their guest ale, Reverend James, a Welsh beer brewed by Brains. I don’t think I’ve ever had a better carvery.

We went for Sunday lunch today and had a great time. The food was good, and the service was excellent, attentive without being intrusive. Thanks for a lovely visit. I’d highly recommend it.

The pub and restaurant were very clean and tidy, with tasteful decor, and the prices felt fair for the quality and quantity. The staff were friendly, polite, helpful and courteous. Our food arrived quickly and was second to none. I had scampi with homemade triple dipped chips, and my partner loved the pork belly with seasonal vegetables and mash so much that she sent her compliments to the chef. I’d never seen her do that before. It was a perfect experience. We’ll have no hesitation coming back when we’re here next year, and I’d happily recommend the place. If I could give it more stars, I would.

We had a fabulous Sunday roast, with plenty of meat and vegetarian choices and lots of tasty puddings. The food was wonderful, and the staff were so friendly and helpful. Highly recommended, thank you!
