Orchard Barn-Luxury 4 BD Barn Conversion

We held our wedding reception in the Banking Hall at the Angel during October half-term, then stayed in Plum Cottage. It was gorgeous, had everything we could have wanted, and we wished we could’ve stayed longer. The wedding breakfast the next day was another great decision, and the staff kindly made it easy for us to collect our cakes and decorations. Beth was a huge help with planning. We had no idea what we were doing, and she was accommodating, offered excellent suggestions and patiently answered my frantic questions. On the day, the staff handled timing hiccups, last-minute dietary requirements and a quick change to the food schedule so smoothly that everything flowed beautifully. They were friendly and professional, and things were sorted so quickly you’d hardly know they were there. The whole team were lovely and made every part of the day work. We hadn’t been back to the Angel in over five years, since before Covid, and this stay was fantastic. The room was spotless, tidy, comfortable and quiet, with excellent parking, which really helped us. My wife has mobility issues after being hit by a car six months ago, and the accessible walk-in shower in the Great Comberton room was perfect for her. Every member of staff was helpful, friendly and polite, from check-in onward. Reception, housekeeping, cleaning, the bar and restaurant team, everyone seemed eager to help and nothing was too much trouble. It was a pleasure staying with such a lovely team. We couldn’t fault anything and will certainly return as often as we can. A huge thank you to everyone, we’re looking forward to seeing you again soon.

We enjoyed a pleasant evening, and the food was good. We’d been recommended the place and loved the beautiful old building. Our window seat had a lovely ambience. A drinks menu would be useful so guests can take their time looking through the options instead of having to quiz the waiting staff. There was quite a delay, and only half our table got their meals at first. We all waited out of courtesy, so by the time the rest arrived, some of our food had gone cool.

I’ve stayed at the Angel several times and can’t praise it enough. Franz and Jared are especially lovely, always going out of their way to make you feel welcome and comfortable. I’d highly recommend staying here and look forward to coming back.
