The Milestone Hotel, Peterborough (Cambridgeshire), Sure Collection by Best Western

Sonia took great care of our dietary needs at breakfast, with real kindness and professionalism. The breakfast spread was fantastic, and the hotel felt welcoming and relaxing. Our stay was amazing, with clean, spacious, very comfortable rooms and warm hospitality throughout. Thanks especially to Sonia for making it memorable. We’d happily return.

Check-in was easy and the staff were lovely, but the room was dirty. The carpet looked unvacuumed, the pillows smelled unclean and had a yellowish look, and there were some very suspicious-looking stains on the wall. The buffet breakfast was included and was a good standard. We stayed the evening of February 14th, and all night the doors kept banging, which kept me awake. My partner can sleep through anything, luckily. I probably wouldn’t go back.

After driving for more than four hours, a hot foaming bath was just fantastic. I first stayed at The Milestone Hotel recently, after visiting family in and around Peterborough regularly for the past 20 years, mostly on weekends. I’d usually driven past it to stay nearer family and town, or just outside. This visit was a pleasing experience. The staff were helpful and cheerful in their work, which makes a difference, and the hotel was clean to a good standard with an inviting feel. I enjoyed both dinner on arrival and breakfast, and they were great value. I wholeheartedly recommend The Milestone Hotel and will make it my go-to for future visits, if it’s available.

The pizzas were epic, and the staff made up for forgetting the rose petals and chocolates from our romantic package with free drinks. I stayed last night and really liked the atmosphere. The 2023 renovation gave the hotel a fresh feel, while the classic mid-century motor lodge layout still feels wonderfully retro. It has a distinct energy, almost like a quantum imprint of the history this land has seen. Look up the Norman Cross history. This place feels like it has stories to tell, rather than being somewhere just to sleep. If you like character and a sense of place more than clinical modernism, this is the spot. The staff were polite and welcoming.
