The Angel Inn sits in lovely Petworth, just off the beaten track. We got a friendly welcome and found it spacious, cosy, and full of atmosphere, even on a very rainy day. The covered outdoor area was well used in February. The set menu is a good offer. I had the butternut squash and tomato soup, which was excellent, followed by the vegan roast. The grilled courgette was tasty, though the kitchen could consider a vegan option with the same value as the meat dishes, including like-for-like roasties. The beef and Yorkshire pudding was described as excellent.

We went with friends and two children, and there was a superb choice of food for both kids and adults. My hake was really tasty, and the service was great, friendly and attentive. It's a charming, cosy pub in a stunning location. I'd highly recommend it.

The roast beef was tender and lovely, but only warm when it arrived, which was disappointing. I also had to go to the bar twice to get things. The staff were charming, and it's a lovely old pub in the centre of Petworth, but the food temperature let the meal down.

Right in the heart of Petworth, this is a lovely old-fashioned English pub. The food was good, with vegetarian options, and the staff were helpful and friendly. A nice atmosphere too.

We stopped for tea and coffee mid-morning and ended up staying for lunch. We hadn't booked, so were lucky to find a table. The Tartifette caught my eye and reminded me of holidays in the French Alps. It was a little different from what I remembered, but just as tasty and enjoyable. Friendly, attentive staff and a good atmosphere. I'd recommend the place and look forward to coming back.
