Hampton by Hilton London Stansted Airport

Breakfast starts at 4am, which is handy for an early flight, and I'd stay here again. It's only a few minutes' walk to and from the terminal, very convenient for Stansted. Check-in was quick and the room had everything you'd expect. The double bed was on the small side but comfortable.

The rooms are comfortable, the shower has lovely strong pressure, and the construction noise didn't come through. Getting to the airport takes quite a walk and isn't as straightforward as advertised. There isn't a covered walkway either. It may be an easy walk with just a carry-on, but checked luggage makes it less accessible. There's no room service or minibar, so don't expect a bottle of water waiting when you arrive.

The bed was a little firmer than we like, though that's personal preference. Annette was brilliant, helping with information and our parking needs, and she arranged a complimentary drink so we could celebrate our anniversary. The service was excellent from the moment we arrived for our stay last night, on the way to our anniversary trip. It's very handy for the airport, just a five minute walk, and we'd definitely stay again when flying from here.

Staff were kind and professional, and there's a bar in the lobby that's open late. Breakfast was okay, with more savoury choices than sweet ones. The waffles are the best pick if you like a sweet breakfast, and the bacon if you prefer savoury.
