The staff made our one-night stay at the Forest of Vale, from the lovely lady at the desk to the polite bar staff and the professional, attentive woman serving breakfast. It's a lovely old building with fantastic service. I wish I could give it six stars, and wouldn't hesitate to return. Hopefully we'll visit in summer and get to sit in the lovely garden.

The whole team was so friendly, from check-in and the person who showed us to our room to the servers, bar staff and cleaners. The room was lovely, and both breakfast and dinner were fantastic. We booked again at checkout and hope to fit in another trip before then. It's within walking distance of the centre and a good base for attractions along the North and East Coasts. Definitely recommend.

We weren't staying at the hotel, but booking ahead got us a table without any trouble. The inside of the building is lovely, and every staff member we met was friendly. The food tasted great, portions were a good size without being too much, and we even had room for dessert. Drinks were good value as well, especially since we expected higher prices from a hotel chain. We'd definitely come back to eat if we're in the area.

The staff were really lovely and helpful, and I slept well in a very comfortable bed. I had a great overnight stay and would happily stay again when I'm back in the Ryedale area. The hotel is easy to spot from the road, though a sign pointing to the car park would help. If you miss it and keep going, there's a rather good Lidl just past it. I didn't eat dinner or breakfast, so can't comment on the food, but there seemed to be plenty of choice.

The staff were friendly and helpful, and our room was clean and comfortable. There was a good range of food at breakfast and in the evening. I'd certainly recommend this hotel for a stay in Pickering, and we'd happily come back.
