Rooms by Bistrot Pierre

The atmosphere was lovely, apart from a group of women a couple of tables back who were cackling and looking down their noses at us. That wasn't the restaurant's fault, though, and it didn't spoil our meal. We'll be back. My OH and I both chose the two-course menu. He had soup and I had Calamari to start, then we both had the Honey glazed pork medallions. Everything tasted good and was well seasoned, and the price was reasonable. Lucy looked after us attentively and was friendly and polite.

We came as a group from work for the first time today, and the food was absolutely gorgeous. Service was quick, and duty manager Luiso, sorry if I've got the spelling wrong, was fabulous. We all agreed he made our day. We'll be back!

The houmous was fabulous, and the food that did arrive was lovely. The French onion soup, though, didn't seem like French onion soup. I don't dispute there were onions in it, but for a place presented as a French bistro, it didn't feel like French cuisine. We had booked for six and arrived on time, including one diner with diabetes. There was a communication mix-up: some of us ordered starters as mains, while others ordered mains, but that wasn't understood. Our diabetic diner was left without food three times. We asked for bread or something for her and were told it would come, but it never did. The mains arrived an hour and twenty minutes into the booking. Two people had ordered moules mariniere, but there was nothing to handle the mussels or put the shells in, and the sides came ten minutes later. It was a bit of a shambles, and after two hours I had to leave without getting more than a starter. The place and cutlery were clean, and we sat on cushioned seats. It didn't seem especially busy, though it was a Wednesday during a heatwave. We were comfortable, but I imagine the kitchen was hot.

We had a great evening with friends. The food, atmosphere, and service all made a good impression, and everything we asked for was taken care of. Our server, Sam, checked in with us regularly. We weren't ready to order at first, but he came back at the right time and helped us without keeping us waiting. The steak was so good, definitely worth trying, and there are plenty of tempting desserts. The drinks list has lots of alcoholic choices as well as hot drinks. The toilets were very clean and had a huge mirror. They also have offers for upcoming events. If you visit regularly, I’d suggest downloading the app so you can collect points and use them later.
