Travelodge Plymouth Roborough

If you like sleeping in, this probably isn't the place for you. There were lots of workers staying, with vans and work vehicles in the car park. Some left around 6am, stomping around in the rooms above, banging doors, opening and shutting their van doors several times, then leaving engines running for over 10 minutes to warm up right outside the room window. Not really the hotel's fault, though.

We were travelling from Manchester to Exeter and then on to Plymouth, and checked in at 9pm. For two people, £41 with breakfast to go was a bargain, though it would have been £29 without it. The room was tidy and fine for one night, but the carpet looked like it needed a proper clean and hoover. The breakfast box was okay, but I wouldn't buy it again. It had a pain au choc, 200ml of water, cornflakes with UHT milk, and a flapjack. My fault for not reading the description properly, but I'd have preferred to pop next door to Toby for breakfast.

I left after two nights of a planned three night work stay. The roadside room faced the traffic lights, so revving cars and bikes kept me awake all night. The 'To-Go' breakfast box wasn't for me either, I'd go to Tim Hortons down the road. Staff were nowhere to be found much of the time. The place felt more like an immigrant hostel than a hotel.

Plenty of free parking, and a handy stop on a long drive. I stayed one night on 31/10/25 and got a fantastic welcome from the guy at reception. The room was clean and airy, and for the price it's hard to beat. Toby carvery is right next door and opens at 8 for breakfast. I'd highly recommend this travel lodge.
