Premier Inn Eastbourne - Polegate

Tammy in the restaurant at the Eastbourne, Polgate hotel was amazing. I have celiac disease, and she made sure I could have a delicious gluten-free breakfast. Thank you so much for taking such good care of me!

The food was poor, though the Diner next door is excellent. It only serves breakfast and lunch, then closes for the evening meal. The rooms are clean and functional, as you’d expect from Premier Inn. It’s a decent enough bed for the night and you get what you pay for, just not a posh night out.

I’ll be honest, even though work is paying for this stay, I still feel ripped off. The room is OK, but the restaurant is a joke. I know I had the included meal deal and should maybe be more grateful, but there were no chips, chicken wings, or cheese for the nachos because they’d been left frozen. Breakfast was the icing on the cake. They couldn’t keep enough food out at the unlimited breakfast to feed maybe six people, and when I asked if more eggs were coming, I got a serious attitude. Ridiculous, and a severe letdown compared with other Premier Inns.

The location worked well for us, close to everything we needed, but we probably wouldn’t stay again. The room itself was okay, though it was uncomfortably hot with the heating off, and traffic noise kept going even with the window firmly shut. I also slept badly. When we arrived, the bathroom smelled as if it had been mopped with dirty water, so we cleaned it again and used air freshener. The food didn’t match other Premier Inns we’ve stayed at. Most of the male staff were good, but some of the women seemed more interested in chatting among themselves than helping.
