Blue Shutters

Breakfast was really tasty, and although scrambled egg on toast isn't on the menu, they were happy to be flexible. The beds were comfortable and the rooms were very nice, with a less sterile feel than a chain hotel. The heating was a little too high, and rooms facing the road get some traffic noise. The en-suites have showers only, no baths. A very good place to stop for the night before catching a ferry.

The self check-in was easy, and the owner kept in great contact, which reassured me while I was travelling. I booked a night at Blue Shutters for my girlfriend and me after being away on business for a long time. The positive reviews and professional-looking website had made a good impression beforehand. We found the rooms spacious and modern, with clean linen, plenty of toiletries, and tea and coffee. Breakfast was free, with good choices, and the full English was cooked to order. The Chief and owner were both friendly and lovely to chat with. We had an excellent stay and would recommend it for solo travellers, couples or families. We’ll definitely return next time we’re passing through Poole.

We’ve stayed at Blue shutters two Septembers in a row and have no complaints. Anita and Milly are lovely and accommodating, the rooms are clean and reasonably spacious, and the garden is nice. Breakfast in the clean breakfast room is good. Parking is a bit tight, but manageable. Ashley Cross, Parkstone are great, and Sandbanks Beach rivals beaches anywhere, in my opinion. A brilliant spot for a few days away. Thanks again, see you soon. I can't understand the negative reviews.

The dining room and garden are especially pleasant places to relax. Breakfast is well provided for, and milk, juice and other small things are usually available through the day too. The rooms are comfortable, with good tea and coffee facilities and bottled water. Front-facing rooms, especially on the upper floors, get plenty of light and air but can be noisy from traffic. It's pleasant accommodation, conveniently placed for local attractions, and well worth considering for a stay in lovely Poole.
