The prices aren’t low, which makes the decline especially disappointing. We’d used this place for years under the former owners and it used to be lovely. My wife and I booked Sunday lunch, but left before eating after a string of problems. The table rocked, the bar chairs and table were dirty, and the drinks list was filthy. We waited more than 20 minutes without anyone offering a menu or asking about drinks. Before that, my Mojito request seemed unfamiliar to the server, and the Margarita I chose tasted like vodka with cordial. When my wife told a staff member we were leaving, she only shrugged. We both feel Potton has lost a lot with this place going downhill. Such a shame.

The food was superb, and Bella took such good care of us. She stayed attentive despite how busy it was, and we never needed anything. We had a wonderful meal with friends last Saturday night and will definitely be back.

The staff were friendly and helpful, and the stay was excellent value. I spent one night in room 1, which was spacious, with a very comfortable bed. The sunny bathroom was large, with both a bath and walk-in shower, plus a magnifying mirror; there was also a long mirror in the bedroom. Breakfast was very good, with sourdough toast, local bacon and sausage, and great coffee. Definitely recommend.

I hadn't really looked into the place before booking a room for a nearby wedding, and what a find it was. The food was a highlight: I had sea bass last night, and it looked so lovely I almost didn't want to touch it. It tasted just as good. Breakfast this morning was freshly cooked with local products. My room was clean and full of personal touches, with an extremely clean, gorgeous bathroom. The single bed was very comfortable and just right for me. The staff were amazing, attentive, and couldn't do enough for me. Coach House exceeded my expectations and made the four-hour drive across country worthwhile. A great place for a short stay or a hearty meal.

Tracey in the kitchen is a wizard, and the food is excellent. I stay here for work at least twice a month, and I've never had a bad meal or stay.
