I went to Theale for the ale trail and was glad I did. The pub has two bars, one on either side as you walk in, and the bar staff were attentive. The tables were clean, the pints of courage best were quality, and the locals were among the friendliest, chattiest people I’ve met in a while. It’s one of the few heritage pubs near reading, and I liked it enough to want to make the trip back to Theale.

My daughter booked us a pod for my birthday, and we had a very pleasant evening. The pod was warm and comfortable, with cushions and throws, and the food we pre-ordered as requested was very good. My daughter also had really good communication with the staff, who were friendly and attentive.

A friendly little pub with a big, quiet beer garden and good parking. You can use the pool table for free, and the toilets are there if you’re passing. Sadly, I’ve seen a lot of landlords come and go over the years, and prices have kept going up.

Small, cozy bars inside, with a huge garden and car park tucked behind the pub, through the archway at the side. They put on entertainment and have Sky TV. Worth checking the website or Facebook.

Only stopped in briefly. The service was friendly and quick, though the beer selection wasn’t very varied. It seemed more like a drinking pub for locals than anything else.
