Penbont House

The mountain views were tremendous, and the staff are a real credit to the place. Ty Penbont feels like a comfortable, welcoming base for solo visitors, couples or families, in an unbeatable location. I had a look around the rooms while thinking about future visits, and every one was spotless, freshly and tastefully decorated. The whole place was spotless. At lunch, the creamy mushrooms on toast were the best I’ve ever had. Breakfast was nicely cooked, with a good selection of cooked items, cereal and fruit juices. My husband enjoyed his full cooked breakfast, and my poached eggs and avocado on toast set me up perfectly for the day. We stayed the night and had lunch on the first day they opened after their January shutdown. My only disappointment is that they don’t serve evening meals. I can’t wait to return.

After admiring the scenery on a very wet day, we stopped in on the off chance. All six of us and our dog were welcomed and seated in the conservatory, where we had an incredible Sunday roast beef. Highly recommend, and we’ll definitely be back.

We stopped for Sunday lunch with five people. The food was excellent, plentiful and well cooked, and the facilities on site were first class. Service was excellent too, with friendly, knowledgeable staff who weren’t pushy.

We were famished after walking here from the main visitor centre along gorgeous autumn lanes, and just managed to catch the last of the Sunday roast service. We had the pork belly and mushroom pâté starter, celeriac roast and a monster hot chocolate. Everything was brilliant, tasty and well priced, and the staff were really jolly. Big fan of this place and we’ll be back as soon as we can. I took a right naff photo of the roast, so I won’t share it, but enjoy the hot chocolate one 💪 Cheers.
