The Horseshoe

Paul made me feel very welcome at The Horseshoe Guest House and was polite and friendly throughout my stay. The room was cosy and breakfast was lovely. Shops, restaurants and pubs are all within a five-minute walk, which was really handy after a fantastic weekend watching the Rali Ceredigion in cwn Elan. I'd definitely stay again.

Paul was kind and thoughtful, helping us work out where to go and how to get there. We loved Rhayader and how welcoming everyone was, and were sorry to leave. At the Horseshoe, the room was spacious, comfortable and spotless, the bed was wonderful, and breakfast was delicious each morning. We'll definitely be back.

It was wonderfully quiet, with no noise from outside or other residents, and we'd definitely stay again. The double room was lovely, with a very comfortable bed and a tidy en suite. On arrival, the owner welcomed us, carried my case upstairs, explained breakfast and showed us to the room. Parking is available, including a separate covered area for motorbikes.

The hosts were friendly, attentive and accommodating, and breakfast was good. You can choose the cooked breakfast with bacon, egg, sausage, mushrooms, beans and tomatoes, plus toast if you want. There are cereals, fruit and yoghurts to help yourself to. The kingsize bed was very comfortable, the room was a good size, and the water pressure was OK. It was a little chilly in the evening, though, and I woke once the sun rose because it came through the orange curtains and made the room very bright. Blackout curtains would be better. I'd stay here again.
