The Green Door

The cottage was a great base, tucked just off Richmond’s main square, with the shops, pubs and other amenities close by. We spent three days there last week (Feb 22) and found it really comfortable. The living room is a good size, with a great TV and excellent Wi-Fi; the compact kitchen is well fitted and has what you need. The bathroom has a roll-top bath and a separate shower, and the bedroom is just as nicely furnished as the rest of the place. It all feels like a renovation done to a high standard. I’d happily recommend it and hope to return.

That Christmas tree and the decorations by the fireplace made the house feel especially festive. We stayed over Christmas and New Year and loved both Green Door and Richmond. The place is equipped and decorated to a high standard, and was just right for the two of us. Richmond also makes a good starting point for exploring the Dales, with plenty of restaurants and pubs nearby. We’ll definitely consider coming back.

Jim, the owner, was really friendly and happy to help both before and during our visit. We had a lovely three-night stay in this cosy cottage in the middle of Richmond. There are lots of good restaurants, bars and coffee shops just a few minutes away on foot, and free parking is about a five-minute walk. Richmond is probably the nicest Yorkshire market town we’ve visited, with plenty of good places to eat. We’d definitely come back and recommend it.

We were a little worried the nearby pub might be noisy, but the glazing kept all the sound out. The cottage is right in the centre of Richmond, and we’d definitely stay there again. It’s a beautifully furnished little place, with one of the softest beds I’ve slept in. The bathroom is large and has both a lovely roll-top bath and a walk-in shower. The kitchen had everything I needed to make dinner when we arrived, and there are plenty of restaurants and takeaways just steps away.
