Brecon Hotel Sheffield Rotherham - Adults Only

A budget hotel that offers good value, with a lovely family-run feel. The location is great and checking in was easy.

The building had the feel and smell of a sealed-up old basement, with damp and stale kebab odours, and noise coming through paper-thin walls. I couldn't sleep properly because of the constant sounds and the shady people visiting this so-called hotel. The room looked as though it hadn't been cleaned for years. The curtains were filthy, the carpet had deep-set stains, and mould seemed to be a permanent part of the bathroom. Water pressure was a rare treat. The desk was so sticky I spilled my water while trying to lift the glass. I never saw the staff, but the impression was that they considered your presence a favour. There's no breakfast, and I wouldn't have wanted to eat it anyway. If you want to lose faith in comfort and humanity, this is the place. Anyone who cares about cleanliness, sleep or basic safety would be better off on a park bench, which would be cheaper, quieter and cleaner.

The location is good and the price is low, but comfort wasn't great. The room smelled a bit, the beds were uneven, and the pillows weren't very clean or fluffy.

Good value for what it costs, and the accommodation is very close to the city centre and other amenities.
