This was my second stay, and it’s been reliable both times. The apartments are very clean and have everything you need until you can get out and buy any extras. The owner and her family make you feel at home, and my little dog is welcome too. I love coming here and will be back. If you visit, try the apple cake, it’s delicious!

The water views are stunning and the rooms are big, but we were cold the whole time. We stayed on a wet, chilly weekend in November and never managed to get the room warm. The bathroom was the warmest spot. We’d booked B&B, but breakfast was a loaf of bread, butter, assorted jams and marmalade, four yoghurts, a small carton of orange juice, a little jar of cereal, five coffee sachets and about six tea bags for four people. With a café on site, I’d have expected them to add £10 and serve a cooked breakfast there. The double bed sagged so much that you rolled into the middle. I can’t comment on the bunks, the teenagers didn’t say anything about them. The décor needs freshening up, and the bathroom needed a proper clean. There were water marks behind the sink, right in view from the loo.

The new café has plenty of menu choices and is lovely. The place is handy for the ferry, and you can walk into the town centre. The rooms are beautiful, very clean and look out to sea. I’ve been coming for the last few years, and this lovely family always goes out of their way to make you feel welcome. I’ll be back next year as usual. Highly recommend.

We stopped by the café today even though we weren’t staying at the hotel. A lovely gentleman welcomed us warmly and served us great coffee and cold drinks outside. The atmosphere was lovely and the standards seemed high. We’re looking forward to a mini break here.

I stayed here years ago when Harry and Hazel owned it. They were such a lovely, welcoming couple, and even though I had their son’s room for the first few nights, it still felt homely. The breakfasts were lovely too. When we returned for our anniversary, they gave us a present in a beautiful presentation box with champagne and truffles. I wish we’d kept in touch. If they still owned the place, we’d have gone back. They were the best couple.
