The accommodation was in a lovely location and had everything we needed to cater for ourselves. We booked directly by email with Caroline, who was thoughtful and attentive and made sure we had a wonderful stay. Thank you.

The host has made this a really lovely space. It’s a great cottage and well equipped.
The cottage had everything we needed, and Caroline was an amazing, attentive host. She left delicious biscuits and kept in touch with reassuring messages. We had a perfect stay even with storm Dararah passing through, and hope to return in spring or summer. It’s a cosy little gem, surrounded by lovely countryside, great walks, miles of coastline and charming seaside towns. Thanks, Caroline, for being so accommodating.
We’ve stayed at The Hayloft Cottage twice and look forward to going back when we visit Whitby again. It’s a lovely, idyllic getaway just a short drive from town, and a cosy fit for a couple. Sparrows, blue tits and blackbirds come to the feeders in the small front garden. The owners are fantastic. They leave guests biscuits from Botham’s and fresh free-range eggs from their own chickens, a really nice touch. The kitchen has plenty of cooking utensils, a hob and an oven for making your own meals. It’s well placed for exploring nearby, including the cinder path and the walk from Goathland to Grosmont along the old incline railway track. Scarborough is a 40-minute drive away.
We had such a lovely, peaceful stay. The owners were really helpful, and the cottage was just right for two, spotless, cosy, and had everything we could need.
