Rachel and Nick were thoughtful, generous hosts, and the cottage was spotless and calm, with clear care given to the details. It’s in a perfect location, and I found the whole experience amazing and meaningful. The place feels relaxed and welcoming, with excellent food and a great choice of shops offering very good value. Highly recommended.

There’s plenty of room in this top-notch cottage right in the middle of Rye. It’s historic and quaint, yet very quiet inside. The fireplace is a great feature and warms the cottage in winter. I’d recommend staying here. Just watch your head if you’re over 6’, though I’m used to that in the UK!

We enjoyed our stay and thought the cottage was good value. The downstairs space is roomy and flexible, and the property has plenty of character on a quaint street in a really convenient spot. There were a few drawbacks. The bedding, floors and furniture were clean, but some other areas felt dusty and grubby. The steep, uneven stairs weren’t mentioned, especially the one leading to the attic bedroom. Two of the three bedrooms are cramped, either from limited floor space or the sloping roof. There are enough toilets, but one shower and two baths don’t feel like enough for 6-8 people. We’d still recommend the place for adults and families with older children.
