The Bell Inn Stilton

Stilton worked perfectly as a halfway stop on both legs of our trip to visit family in Manchester. We stayed overnight at the Bell on the way there and back, and found it very comfortable, with good food and drinks available. The service was friendly and courteous throughout. Emma deserves a special mention: she dealt with our questions efficiently and always with a smile, and nothing seemed too much trouble. She’s a credit to the group.

We enjoyed the breakfast in a lovely old part of the hotel. It was plentiful and good quality, and the friendly server couldn’t do enough for us. Our room was also in the old part, with a big comfortable bed, lovely toiletries, bathrobes, and quality tea and coffee. The Robertts radio was a nice touch, already on when we came in. Staff were very friendly, and the Christmas turkey meals were beautifully cooked. We all ended up asking for extra gravy, so I wondered why a jug wasn’t brought out as a gesture. We had a wonderful Christmas break in mid-December and will return. We also enjoyed the two types of Stilton we brought from the deli for our Christmas table.

Just got back from a lovely weekend at The Bell Hotel. The rooms were spotless and beautiful, the food was delicious, and the staff gave faultless service from beginning to end. Thanks to everyone. I’d highly recommend it and hope you visit again.

I haven’t stayed at the hotel, so can’t comment on that. But the waitress who served my family and me on the evening of 28th December was great, even though she seemed to be looking after the whole restaurant mostly by herself. The food was yummy too.
