The main dishes were the saving grace, really nice, and the food was delicious. The decor was well done, though the olives came ice cold. Service wasn't great: the waitress ignored us when we first arrived, then forgot the water and didn't pour the wine. The music was too high energy.

A really welcoming pub, and I stayed for one night. Both the room and bathroom were spacious. My only issue was the lack of fresh air since the windows don't open because of pigeon issues. There is air-conditioning, though.

We didn't stay overnight, so I can't comment on the rooms. We came in for drinks to celebrate our 10 year wedding anniversary, then liked the atmosphere and the look of the menu enough to stay for dinner. The food was delicious, with a great variety that made it hard to choose. We loved the flavours and the option to pick three starters for under £20. The locals were lovely and the place had a friendly feel. Everyone seemed to know one another, which is rare these days and comforting. We'll come back 😊

❤️ They showed us to our rooms instead of leaving us to find them ourselves, which was a really touching gesture. We were very pleased with the table they'd laid for us and with our dinner. It's such a wholesome, cosy place. Donna, who looks after breakfast and the rooms, was kind and open hearted and took good care of us. I love old buildings. A place that's been here for 500 years, still standing and sheltering us all, is something to treasure. ❤️

The location and views were lovely, and the bedroom was pleasant with a really comfortable bed. The small bathroom had some charm, but parts of the shower grout were black and the broken door let water across the floor. Housekeeping already knew about it. I thought we’d be moved, but had to ask again, and was told the shower would be fixed tomorrow. In the end, we were given a key so we could move ourselves. We didn’t eat at The Ship after locals advised against it.
