The biggest issue for me was how the stay ended: I left a few clothes in the wardrobe by mistake, but they disappeared and were never returned. It was never properly looked into either. I’m glad it wasn’t anything more valuable, and I won’t be going back to any John fowler park. We were there over October half term, and the accommodation needed a much better clean. There were clumps of hair behind doors and under the beds, plus mould on the ceiling and in the corners. We also had to make our own beds, which hadn’t been mentioned when we booked. During the stay, a man from Liverpool tried our windows and doors, saying he had the wrong accommodation. It struck me as odd that he went straight to the back doors before trying the front. I reported it to reception. Later we learned that he and his family were living on site, though staff had repeatedly denied that anyone was living there when it came up. The bar was a letdown too. On our first night, a lot of the kegs were nearly empty, and we were told that happens each year at the end of the season. There were power cuts on two nights, leaving the bar out of use for a while. Once the power came back, I tried to order takeaway food, but was told it was cash only. The cash machine was out of order as well. On another night, a woman collapsed after drinking too much, and the bar had to close while paramedics came. We were told the other bar would open, but after waiting in the cold for five minutes, we went back to our chalet.

The park is about a mile from Hayle, so walking there depends on being fit and able; otherwise, you need a car. There was no entertainment, and the photos are very misleading. This was probably the worst John Fowler camp we've stayed at, and we definitely won't return. Our accommodation smelled bad and was mouldy, and it hadn't been cleaned properly. The floors were disgusting, there was food on the kitchen handles, and both the beds and carpets smelled like wet dogs. Staff seemed not to care. There was dog mess left behind, and dogs were running loose even though the rules clearly say they must always be on a lead.

We had a great stay, despite seeing a few negative reviews. Our three-bedroom house was spotless and had everything we needed, and every staff member we dealt with was friendly and respectful. The site is really well maintained, easily the best JF site we've stayed at. Parking varies by accommodation. Some spaces are a couple of minutes' walk away, while ours was right outside. Thanks for a lovely stay.

The park itself is very clean and tidy, and the sofa was friendly, which helped make up for some of the chalet's shortcomings. Still, for a silver chalet, I expected a little more polish. A few finishing touches are needed, and there was mould in the bathroom and on the children's bed. Most things were decent, but it’s a shame the mould was there.

The staff have been polite and helpful, and the accommodation is clean and comfortable. The pool is small, and there aren't many food choices at the restaurant.
