Guesthouse Havelock

The location was the one thing going for it. Our double was two single beds pushed together, the bedding was poor quality, and the furniture and fittings felt dated and shoddy. There weren't any amenities, not even a hairdryer in the room.

We were meant to stay four nights, but I discovered I had Covid after arriving in Jersey. My husband and I had come for our granddaughter's confirmation, and her mother-in-law had just arrived after open-heart surgery, so we couldn't go. We were gutted, and my daughter booked us a flight home for the next day. Amelia and Joe are such lovely hosts, very approachable, and we're sad we had to leave. We had a comfortable balcony room with a lovely sea view. We'll stay again, highly recommended.

Good value for the price, with a nice seafront location and a good pub about ten minutes away on foot. Parking was the downside. I found a nearby car park where I could use the pay-and-go app.

It looked a bit dated and tired when I first arrived, but the comfortable beds and gorgeous breakfast in the dining room won me over after just one night. The room has an old-world elegance, and after a day out enjoying Jersey it already felt like home. It's right on the coast, across the road from the outdoor Lido pool, and the house was cleaned perfectly while I was out.
