Travelodge Manchester Salford Quays

I booked at the last minute because I had a meeting in Manchester early the next morning. The front desk staff were decent and got me into my room quickly when I arrived around 1am. As soon as I opened the door, though, I was hit by a strong urine smell, as if someone had urinated all over the carpet. It was impossible to mask, so I left the window open all night. Between the traffic noise outside and other guests in the hallway, with the very thin walls, it wasn’t a peaceful night. The room itself was okay, and I won’t make a fuss about there being no toiletries in a budget hotel. But a room smelling like that is completely unacceptable. Parking nearby costs extra, which I suppose is expected.

At TL Salford Quays, I found the rooms clean, the staff friendly, and shops and public transport close by. Most of all, I want to thank Arnas, James and Charlotte at the Front office. They did their best to handle my requests, and their help and time made my stay so pleasant. Those three gave me 5-star customer service. Thanks to all of you, and I’ll definitely come back and stay again.

The people at this Travelodge turned a stressful arrival into a much calmer stay. From check-in to leaving, the service was outstanding. The man at reception with two earrings, the woman at the bar, and the waitress were all brilliant and engaging. They deserve an award. Best place to stay, five stars.

The rooms are basic, but they were very clean. Food was hot, delicious, and good value, and the location worked perfectly for nearby attractions. What really made the stay was the staff: everyone was friendly, cheerful, and keen to help. I'd definitely come back.
