The breakfasts were a real highlight. The pancakes with bacon were great, and I haven’t had poached eggs that good in years. The owners and staff also went out of their way to help. I was in town to run a self-defence course for local Air Cadets, so I needed somewhere affordable and fairly close to the squadron. Rokeby was easy to book at £50 a night with breakfast. My room was lovely, with a comfortable bed, good shower, and a TV with a decent picture. It was about a 10-minute trundle into the town centre and its eateries. I’d happily go back.
