Getting the key was a problem, and the apartment itself was a shock: peeling wallpaper and cobwebs everywhere. Before checkout, the cleaner rudely told us to leave straight away because she had other jobs to get to. When I mentioned it to the owner's wife, she was rude too and insisted the place was clean. They clearly need to raise their standards. Very disappointing.
I needed my inhaler more during the stay, and I'm quite sure the damp had aggravated my chest. The windows were filthy, grease and food had practically joined the cooker to the fridge, and even the cups and dishes were dirty and stained. I was reluctant to make a cup of tea. The smell of damp hit as soon as we opened the communal front door. There was black mould climbing the walls and wallpaper coming away. There's nothing remotely luxurious about this place. The owners shouldn't be advertising or charging for it in this condition. Shame on them. This experience won't stop us returning to The IOW, but hosts like this give tourism a bad name. It's hard to believe Alex Pollizi could even fix this one.
There are overflowing bins outside, and a building site now blocks the sea views. Inside, the property was dirty, dated and smelly, with damp and peeling decor. The owners refused a refund and don't seem to care. This feels like a money-making scheme, and the place should be shut down. Avoid. Disgusting!
The sea was visible from my window, and the beach was only two minutes away. I felt like I was in heaven! The apartment was clean, and I really enjoyed my time there.
We haven't even checked in yet, and we're already having problems. No one has answered the phones for nearly two hours, and the email gives two different check-in times. Not professional at all. I wouldn't recommend it.
