The staff were lovely, always smiling and helpful, and there’s even a snooker table. We booked on the day we arrived, and it was cheap and available. Our seaview room had a nice view, the newly renovated bathroom was very clean, and the sheets were clean even though the sheets and curtains looked old-fashioned. The shower was warm enough but had weak pressure, and the basin drained very slowly. Noise came from both sides at night, from a takeaway or eating place across the road that operates overnight and the pub downstairs. The hotel itself had a smell. Maybe it’s because there are flies around the whole beach area and they keep the doors shut most of the time. Replacing the old carpets with light-coloured flooring might help the smell and make the hotel brighter, more like the exterior photos on the website.

The staff were really nice and helpful, and everything in my room was neat and tidy. I had a lovely time, with a really good view of the sea. One downside was my friend’s room, which had carpet in the bathroom. I found that really disgusting.

The room was good and the hotel interiors were awesome. For less than £40 for an overnight stay, it was well worth the money, and they were very flexible. My only issue was the shower: the water was very hot and there was no way to turn the temperature down. I don’t think there was a heater in the room, so if you’re staying in winter, check before booking.

The location is great, opposite the beach, and dogs are welcome. It’s an old hotel with a newly painted interior, and the beds were surprisingly comfortable, though the pillows were incredibly thin. The newly renovated bathroom was clean, but they only provide a tiny bar of soap, even for a family of four. They also don’t allow outside food in the hotel, which wasn’t advertised and doesn’t really make sense to me.

The room was filthy when we arrived and clearly hadn’t been cleaned. Someone came to clean it afterwards, but the cups and spoons were still dirty. The place is dated and has a really weird smell throughout the hotel and rooms. There wasn’t even a slip mat in the shower. I won’t use this hotel again and wouldn’t recommend it.
