The chef was brilliant, the food was fantastic, and the beer was good too. They use meat from the local butchers. Already looking forward to coming back.

We had a delicious meal in a welcoming pub with lots of history. The atmosphere was good, and the staff were friendly and helpful. If we’re in the area again, we’d definitely come back for another meal.

Breakfast was the only meal we had, and it was freshly cooked, delicious and good value. The room was clean, and the bathroom was first rate, especially the shower. A few small gripes: there were no extra hash browns to ask for, even though I think they belong with a full English. The low ceiling on the stairs gave us a laugh after my friend hit his head three times. Our TV in room 1 also didn’t work because of an aerial problem. Still, it’s a charming, rustic, sleepy place, and I’d highly recommend it.

We loved our night in the beautiful cottage at the back. The new management are fantastic, and the pub’s in a lovely spot. The food and drinks were good quality and reasonably priced, and breakfast the next morning was really nice. We’ll definitely be back.
