Ashburton House

The owners were so nice when we arrived, and the room was absolutely stunning for a B&B that charges extra. The £25 breakfast felt a bit much. On the second morning I spotted a used cup with red lipstick on it from the day before, which made me feel quite sick. She apologised and sorted it out. I didn't pay for breakfast but still had some. We enjoyed our stay and I'd come back. It was my youngest daughter's first time in Scarborough. Thanks for a great stay, guys.

It's a quiet, lovely boutique hotel with plenty of parking, and the owners are caring without being intrusive. At breakfast they checked two or three times that we had what we needed and everything was all right. The breakfast was superb and worth the £10 over eating at a local restaurant or pub. There's a lot of thought in how it's prepared, and the slice of bread that isn't over-fried is a really nice touch. There's loads to choose from besides a full breakfast, including avocado on toast, Cumberland ring or a croissant. The bathroom was brand new and upscale. The hotel is snug and warm, and you can control your own radiator heating. There's a room fan as well if you want it. It was so quiet we couldn't hear other guests in their rooms or outside ours. The photos are lovely but don't quite do it justice. It has a warm, modern atmosphere and is well placed for walks into town and nearby restaurants, about eight minutes from the main high street using a shortcut. We'll definitely stay again.

The location works really well, and breakfast is excellent. I've stayed here before, and whenever I'm in Scarborough I'll keep coming back. The hosts are so welcoming, the rooms are spacious, clean and tastefully done, and the beds are very comfortable. Highly recommend.

We only booked one night, but I would've happily stayed longer. The room was lovely, clean and nicely presented, and the service was spot on. Breakfast was really good too. I'll be back.
