Dolphin Guesthouse

The only thing I’d change is adding air conditioning to our room. Then again, this is England, so it would probably only matter for about two weeks a year. We were very happy with the stay. Gary runs the place single-handedly and was a treasure, very friendly, with a great breakfast. I’d definitely stay again.

This was our eighth visit to the Dolphin, and we love it. Garry is a great host, always helpful and knowledgeable about the area. You can park on the street with a permit available from Garry, and the bus stops are within walking distance.

Gary was a wonderful host, friendly and professional, and I’ll definitely stay again. The room was really comfortable and breakfast was amazing, especially the thick bread. Each morning there was even a little mint chocolate left in my room as a finishing touch. Thank you, Gary :-)

Gary made this delightful traditional b&b even better. He was warm, friendly, informative and incredibly attentive, with nothing too much trouble. The place stayed spotlessly clean, breakfast was tasty and filling, and the bedrooms were serviced daily with fresh towels. Ours was compact, with a small but adequate en-suite shower room, a small TV, and tea and coffee facilities. The mattress wasn’t firm enough for us, if I’m being picky, but it wasn’t a major issue. The location works well for North Bay attractions. Peasholme Park is within a five-minute walk, while Scarborough Open Theatre and the beach are about ten minutes away. There are several good-quality places to eat nearby and a couple of good pubs within fifteen minutes on foot. Gary supplies a residents’ pass for FREE on-street parking.
