The Windmill B&B

We had such a lovely Christmas here. The service was great and everyone was friendly. It’s a quiet place to get away, and the town is an easy walk away.

The courtyard is beautiful, a little oasis tucked into a cul-de-sac, and it should be a real gem in summer. I’m in the en-suite room as I write this. It’s clean and cosy, with a lovely warm room, bed, and facilities. The one problem is a noise like a pneumatic drill coming through the wall from the next room, frequently during the night. It really affected what would have been a brilliant night’s sleep. I hope that room is empty tonight.

The lighting in the evening is an awesome sight. This is a fantastic, quirky, historic place, and it’s very smart. You may think your SatNav is lying because you won’t spot it until you’re only about 50 yards away. The entrance is tucked up an alley in the old part of town, leading to a little oasis behind its own gate. Honestly, I can’t recommend it enough.

The courtyard looks beautiful lit up in the evening, and the location is quiet while still being within walking distance of town. We spent three nights here and found the hosts lovely. The place is a credit to all their hard work and commitment, tastefully restored, spotless, and comfortable. We’ll definitely stay again.
