Encore Rooms

For a longer visit, bear in mind there's no laundry access. The shared kitchen is basic but works fine, and Sainsbury’s across the street has a good choice of groceries. I stayed upstairs, so I didn't have grown men hammering on the window at all hours. You may hear a neighbour's TV, but luckily I didn't have many noisy neighbours. All in all, pretty alright for the price. The en suite is small, but does the job.

Grown men were hammering on our hotel windows at 1am, and nobody from management or the emergency contact responded. We should at least have felt safe, but we didn't. The bed was OK, and about what I'd expect for the price. The customer service could have been much better. If they'd bothered to return our calls, I would have left a better review. I can't recommend this place.

The location is handy, right in town with a big Sainsbury's next door, and the accommodation has a nice feel, almost like your own apartment. It's clean, bright, spacious and secure, with a very comfortable bed. The windows open fully for fresh air and block out a lot of outside noise when shut. The shower is great too, with enough room not to bang your elbows. Having Netflix was a huge bonus for me, since there's usually nothing on the terrestrial channels. The downsides were limited free parking and no tea or milk in the room.

I called the hotel to ask about cancelling or rearranging my stay. They told me not to worry, that I could cancel and get a refund, so I didn't go. The refund never came, and I haven't managed to reach them since. It feels like they've either blocked my number or saved me as a contact so they can ignore me. Looking at the reviews, I'm not the first person this has happened to.
