Geoff was a friendly, great host, and the bedding was clean. The place looked clean enough, without the layers of dust some reviews mention, but the bed wasn’t especially comfortable and the pillows were hard. In the bathroom, the blind was held together with cellotape, the toilet seat was loose, and the shower head didn’t stay in its holder. Hot water at the basin took 2-3 minutes to arrive. Breakfast was average but edible. There was no draft beer or cider, only cans, and they were pretty expensive. It was an okay stay, but the place badly needs an overhaul. I’m not sure where people giving it four stars are staying, but it can’t be here.

We had a great time as a family. Jeff was a really helpful, friendly guy who put together an itinerary for Wells and Glastonbury, making it easy for us to see all the places. Both are about a 20-minute drive away. He also made us good breakfast and dinner.

We had a relaxing weekend and felt very much at home. Everyone was friendly and welcoming, and nothing was too much trouble. We had breakfast and an evening meal there because it suited us. Great value for money, and a stunning location for the Bath and West Show Ground, Clark's Shopping Village, Glastonbury, and elsewhere in Somerset, all just minutes away.

Jeff greeted me late on Sunday night and immediately made me feel welcome. The room was small but just right for what I needed. Since the festival was in full swing, I was put in a room at the back, and it was wonderfully quiet. I had the best sleep on both nights, with a very comfortable bed. I ate here both evenings. Jeff cooked the food himself, and it was great and reasonably priced. Breakfast the morning I left was lovely, with great service too. The place dates to the 15th century but was spotlessly clean. My company had booked it for my work, and I hope to return. Highly recommended.
