The location is beautiful and peaceful, and Martin was really friendly. He even put out a lovely breakfast though my colleague and I had to leave fairly early. We stayed one night at Valley View Farm and both loved it. I'll definitely stay again when work takes me to the area.

Colleen made delicious homemade meals, with both dinner and breakfast tasting like professional cooking. She even baked a birthday cake and gave us drinks to celebrate my birthday. Marty picked us up from bruton train station and dropped us off the next day, which made everything easier. We had a lovely one-night stay at the valley view farm. The countryside views were relaxing, with great walks nearby, and it's very child-friendly. Thanks for such a nice experience.

The place itself is nice, which makes the weekend experience even more disappointing. The host was confrontational over breakfast. I asked where I could buy plain bread instead of the sourdough served with the continental breakfast, and he responded aggressively, asking if I wanted “super ultra processed food.” When I asked what he meant, he went over to my wife and kept talking at her about sliced bread. I tried several times to calm things down and explained that my partner was seven and a half months pregnant and getting stressed. The host kept making passive-aggressive comments whenever he had the chance, turning what should have been a restful weekend into a miserable breakfast experience.

We chose to eat at the farm and had a tasty home-cooked dinner, followed by ice cream and wine. Breakfast was lovely too, served on a veranda with a view over the garden. The rooms were comfortable, cozy, tastefully decorated, well furnished and very clean. It's family-friendly, with toys for children, plus a baby feeding chair and cutlery. There are lovely walks around the beautiful, quiet countryside, as well as pubs, pretty villages and other activities nearby. Colleen, thanks for a lovely stay. My husband, daughter and I had a wonderful time.

We booked for the bridal party on the first night of our wedding weekend in September 2023, and ended up extending the stay to three nights because it was so special. There was homemade food, wine on the patio and a delicious breakfast. It made the weekend really memorable, and I can't recommend the place enough. Thank you so much!
