Days Inn by Wyndham Telford Ironbridge M54

The fire alarm went off at 1:30 am and sent everyone rushing outside. With the people upstairs walking around and making a lot of noise all night, it was a miserable, sleepless stay. Room 3 is one to avoid, though I can’t say whether the other rooms are the same. The hotel was clean, but otherwise just an ordinary roadside place. This seems like a structural issue that needs fixing.

The room was warm and smelled fresh and clean, with a powerful shower and a nice bath for a soak. The bed and pillows were very comfortable, and the Wi-Fi worked without any problems. Check-in was friendly, and free parking was a bonus. Amazing value. I’ll stay again when I’m in town on business.

For such a cheap hotel, it wasn’t too bad, but I’d pay £20 more for somewhere better. The staff were always smiling and very friendly. My room was somewhat clean, though I did notice what looked like a bloodstain on the floor. Having a service station next door is handy, but the hotel feels pretty much in the middle of nowhere. There’s a Burger King there, which I don’t like, and the nearest McDonald’s is 2.2 miles away, or a 1-hour-20-minute walk. You get what you pay for.

We had a good stay and thought it was great value. The reception staff were really friendly, and the rooms were very clean.
