Park House Hotel

Apr26. On a one-night work trip I found the staff helpful and very friendly, parking was easy, and the location was pleasant and quiet. The bed was clean and comfortable, but the room and bathroom were both very dark because of the poor lighting. Noise from nearby rooms carried a lot. The hotel feels tired and needs refurbishment, and the uneven floors, especially in the upper corridors, could be hazardous for older people. The dining area had a cafe feel, and the cooked breakfast was poor quality.

We all had a five-star stay, and I’d book again for longer to explore more of the area. I only gave four stars because the hotel looks tired and needs refurbishment, though I understand some work is underway. The staff were friendly, our dog was welcome, and there was no fuss about having a pet with us. We had a superb Sunday dinner and a lovely cooked buffet breakfast. The room was clean and very spacious, with a massive, super-comfy bed. The bar was a bit pricey, but probably typical for a hotel.

At the Christmas party yesterday, the catering staff took such good care of me. I eat gluten- and dairy-free, and they went out of their way to make a fresh GF bread roll, cook part of my main from scratch, and even prepare an off-menu strawberry cheesecake for dessert. I’ve never been looked after so well. Highly recommend this venue for its attentive, knowledgeable staff and how well it handles dietary needs.

First time staying here. The bed was comfortable and the room felt cosy. Staff were very welcoming, and the food was good with fair prices for today. Great location, too. Some of the past reviews are fair, others harsh. Stop trying to compare hotels with a wethers. Well done to the staff today.
